Prudo & Davide Squillace – Sweet Love

Title: Sweet Love

After a triumphant maiden voyage, Alfa Romero are back on the road again to continue their trip across the electronic music landscape. The map has been left behind once again, but it’s never been about where they are heading more than how they get there. Riding up top this time, is Alfa Romero’s very own Prudo alongside fellow Italian and much lauded producer Davide Squillace. Their collaborative effort is a combination of what both men do best; providing sheer dancefloor fodder with a trunk load of personality. The remix comes from the extremely talented German, Patrick Lindsey who turns in a deliciously wild rework on the flip.

Davide Squillace and Prudo get straight into the swing of things with ‘Sweet Love’ building the track around a deep, sweeping bassline and rhythmic but tight beats. Cuban born American raised singer/songwriter Patrix Duenas brings his diverse palette to the table with a sleazy yet soulful vocal performance that adds a real sense of funk to the track. Playful, but aimed squarely on the dancefloor, ‘Sweet Love’ is a perfect addition to Alfa Romero’s bodywork.

Alfa Romero – Bank Holiday

Alfa Romero Recordings is finally born. The vibrant, new label’s first born is one of pure blood, brought to life by way of immaculate conception by Alfa Romero themselves. Bank Holiday, the duo’s first outing since the highly acclaimed Sunday Bonds which saw inclusion in two separate compilations from both Pete Tong and Simon Dunmore, finds the pair in fine form once again. Like all the forthcoming releases on the imprint, Bank Holiday comes in a straight forward package containing just the original and one remix.

Bank Holiday is a laidback and melodic house strut. Full of emotion, the track is both reflective and highly personal. Subtle and dreamy melodies waft over soulful vocals, crisp beats and warm bass to create a lush soundscape full of depth and personality. Versatile enough to make equal sense at a party as it does at home in a comfy chair, Bank Holiday is another reminder of how skilled Prudo and Lorenzo Bartoletti are at infiltrating the subconscious and finding that sweet spot that satisfies the mind, body and soul all at once.

Much lauded Mexican producer Betoko supplies the remix for ARR001. Although he retains all the emotion and airy quality of the original, he strips things down more, allowing the addictive bassline to lead the way. A subtle rework that proves Betoko’s deft hand at remixing, the tune is a perfect complement to Alfa Romero’s original.
